BRITISH PHARMACOPOEIA (BP)

Overview

This website links to the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, where you can purchase or access the British Pharmacopoeia (BP). It is published  by the British Pharmacopoeia Commission, annually in August and becomes effective the following year in January. The BP has set official quality and safety standards for medicines since 1864 and provides the only comprehensive collection of authoritative official standards for UK pharmaceutical substances and medicinal products.

It includes comprehensive monographs for pharmaceutical substances, medicinal products, and veterinary drugs, incorporating the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.).
